DEMONSTRATION with JACK
CZARNECKI
Cape Perpetua Visitors Center.
1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Jack Czarnecki,
Chef/Owner, The Joel Palmer House Restaurant.
Cooking Demonstration and conversation followed by a
Book Signing. A biological scientist by training,
Jack Czarnecki may be the only restaurateur in the
country to have studied under Dr. Maynard Amerine at
Davis in the field of sensory evaluation. Jack's
training in the kitchen came entirely from his Mom
and Dad at their restaurant, Joe's in Reading,
Pennsylvania. With Jack and his wife Hiedi at the
helm, Joe's became the first restaurant to receive
Mobil Guide's four star award. Since then Joe's has
gone on to receive many of this country's most
prestigious dining awards. Joe's is recognized as
the world's leading restaurant in its use of wild
mushrooms. In a nationwide talent search in 1987
Jack was named one of the top 16 chefs in the
country by the James Beard Foundation out of a field
of 550 chefs in North America. Additional Information.
