  6:00 - 8:00 pm  Winter Wonderland Dinner Concert  This special evening features a concert by Yachats' favorite son, pianist Milo Graamans, and a wonderful gourmet meal prepared by Michelle and Anthony of Ona Restaurant. Tickets are $40 each and may be purchased in Yachats at Mari's Books and at the Yachats Community Presbyterian Church (YCPC). Seating is limited to 100, so you will want to buy your ticket early. Chefs Michelle and Anthony are donating their services and providing the food at cost. All proceeds from the event will be used to support the music ministry of YCPC. 2:00 - 4:00 pm  Community Christmas Concert at Yachats Community Presbyterian Church, 360 West 7th Street -- Each year, YCPC presents a Christmas Concert as a gift to the community. This year's concert will feature Christmas carols and music by both the choir and the handbells, conducted by Milo Graamans, our Music Director. There will be a holiday raffle with great prizes from local businesses. Shuttle service will be offered from Heceta Head Lightstation State Scenic Area parking lot to the front door. Or bring warm, rainproof clothing and a flashlight and enjoy a beautiful walk up from the parking lot/beach. The parking fee is $5 or present your Oregon Coast Passport.   Xmas candle 7:00 - 7:30 pm  31st Annual Yachats Winter Celebration Opening Ceremony Begins with an official declaration of the opening of Yachats Winter Celebration followed by a brief talk by Mary Claire Crook about winter celebrations around the world. At 7:30 pm everyone crosses the street for music and refreshments. 7:30 - 8:00 pm The Sweet Adelines sing holiday harmonies a cappella at the Yachats Ladies Clubhouse, W 3rd & Pontiac.   Bonfire 4:00 - 6:00 pm Winter Solstice Bonfire Party  The Yachats Academy of Arts & Sciences hosts this annual community bonfire that offers music, sweet treats, and a warm welcome. Music will be provided by Mary-Beth Nickel on flute and Roy Simpson on bodhran. Guests are invited to bring a percussion instrument as well as a piece of firewood to add to the bonfire. The Yachats Ladies Club will be providing sweet treats and there will be coffee and hot chocolate. This is a free event. Any donations will be shared with the participating nonprofit organizations. The party is held on the grounds behind the Yachats Commons building and moves inside the large picnic shelter in inclement weather. Yachats Commons, 441 Hwy 101.

Yachats New Year's Day Peace Hike

Start the new year on the right foot! Join the 7th Annual Yachats New Year's Day Peace Hike. The event begins at 10:00 am at the Yachats Commons, 441 N. Hwy 101. Hikers will follow a 3.5 mile loop that includes sections of the 804 Trail, the Ya'Xaik Trail and the Gerdemann Botanic Preserve public footpath. The varying terrain of each section ensures hikers of all abilities have the opportunity to participate. Upon returning to the Commons, hikers will celebrate with refreshments and camaraderie. This month-long series of events is generously supported by the Little Log Church Museum, Yachats Commons, Yachats Ladies Club, Yachats Lions Club, Yachats Youth and Family Activities Program, Friends of the Yachats Commons, Yachats Academy of Arts and Sciences, Yachats Community Presbyterian Church, Heceta Head Lighthouse, Cape Perpetua Visitors Center, and many community volunteers, artists, and local businesses.
