The ocean front 804 Trail is above the tide line, so you may walk it at any time. At low tide find tide pools along the route from Smelt Sands State Park north and along the route south at Yachats State Park where there is a marine life viewing platform.

The historic 804 Trail hugs the village coastline and connects to the Amanda Trail at the south end of town. Hike the historic Amanda Trail to the top of Cape Perpetua (the highest point along the Oregon coast.)

Plan your 7-mile sandy beach walk (or) visit around Low Tide for the most expansive beach, best opportunities for beachcombing, and safest beach access.

Click on the web site above for an annual tide table. Watch for sneaker waves, especially as high tide approaches. You may also find a link to beach safety tips on the"Take An AreaTour" page of our web site.
