Yachats. A place like no other.
From the oceans rhythm to the forests womb, the pulse of nature is immersive. The destination is here: Now its time to go deep.
Yachats (pronounced YAH-hots) gets its name from a mix of local Native words that most likely mean “where the trail leaves the beach.”
Situated on the Pacific's rocky shore where marine life is nurtured, agates are tumbled and beach combing for treasures is a path unto itself.
This place, location, these people. It’s different here.
To the west, open ocean inspires awe and a sense of harmony. To the south is the Cape Perpetua natural area, including nuanced beaches, marine and bird sanctuary along with hiking and forest experiences like no where else.
Known as the "Gem of the Oregon Coast," Yachats offers something for everyone, from stunning ocean vistas and tide pools to serene hiking trails and cozy local eateries.
The Hunt Is On!
If you find it - you keep it!
From October 2024 through March 2025, the Yachats Area Chamber of Commerce and the “Trail Gnomes” set out and hide mushrooms made out of glass and porcelain by local artists Rasa Clay Works and Holmes Birdwell Glass Art.
Check in each Saturday morning for where they set the mushrooms as clues will be at www.YachatsTreasureHunt.com and on our @visit.yachats Instagram.
