Yachats Pride is back in full force! Mark your calendar for June 2-4, 2023
Friday – June 2
Drag Bingo – 5:30 pm- Back by popular demand; we are having a bingo night. Local businesses have donated cool prizes. The game cards and daubers are ready for use.
Saturday – June 3
Transgender Tea Party @ 1 pm-We gather a diverse panel of young and old gender-queer and trans people willing to share their experiences. Attendees can respectfully ask anything and are often surprised at how much they learn. The wonderful Alison Davison will be returning from Seattle.
Live Local Musical Performances @ 4 pm- We have Robbie Dee, the incredible violin player, to open the community center to all with her stunning playing. Then guitarist and songwriter Matthew B will be crooning his classics and originals. Followed by local burlesque singer Maura Moth.
Community Dinner @ 6:00 pm - Prepared by the Pride Volunteers and Ona Restaurant
Under the Sea Pride Prom @ 7 pm-Here is everyone’s chance to have the dinner dance of their dreams. We encourage dressing up in your favorite duds. And then we all boogie down to DJ Rustyrainbow & Mr. Luxary. Take photos at our photo booth, and snack on locally made delish food supplied for free by the Pride volunteers.
Writing Love Letters @ 6 pm-This is the second year we have set up a vintage typewriter booth. We have this set up for anyone who feels moved to sit and reflect on Pride, their identity, or even a love note. We gather these writings, which are turned into our Pride Zine each year. It is a way to document the event and create a lasting memory.
Sunday – June 4
Vendors and Resource Tables @ 1 pm- Outside the pavilion, local vendors will set up tables and share their homemade wares. Also, other nonprofits will be set up to offer resources to the community.
Community BBQ @ 12 pm- Yachats Community Presbyterian Church coordinates this event, with Pride covering the food costs. It’s a great time for kids and adults. Pastor Bob, Lorraine, and the crew know how to cook for large groups and add wonderful touches like the popcorn machine and the snow cone cart.
Pride Puppy Parade @ 1:30 pm- We close out Pride with our fur-tastic showcase of locals and visiting four-legged (sometimes a three-legged). Prizes and certificates for all entries. Dress your pup up, or bring them in their natural coat. It’s a delight to see and fun to participate. We hope to have over 30 dogs this year!
