SOUTH COUNTY YOUTH ART FAIR
EVENT INFORMATION
JOIN us on October 21, 2023 for the First Annual South County Youth Art Contest and Show. The event will present artwork from young people (ages 12-15 and 16-18) in South County (Waldport, Yachats and Tidewater) and will include a reception and an awards ceremony to announce our winners. The awards will include cash prizes.
Proceeds from this event provide financial support to youths who are interested in the arts.

Saturday, October 21, 2023, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Free Admission.
GENERAL INFORMATION
This is an indoor show taking place at the Bader Fine Art Gallery, 120 NW Highway 101, Waldport, OR 97394. Artists may submit up to two (2) pieces. Submission of works larger than 36” wide and 48” high will need to be confirmed by the curator. Drop-off schedule by October 14, 2023, and other details and hanging rules provided on acceptance.
ART AWARDS
A panel of two independent judges will judge the show. There are two divisions:
Ages 12-15;
Ages 16-18.
There will be awards with cash prizes. “People’s Choice” award, voted on by attendees, will also be presented. The curator welcomes art such as:
Painting (acrylics, airbrush, oil, tempura, watercolor)
Drawing
Printmaking
Photography
Mixed Media & other media
RULES
All work exhibited in the Art Contest must be the artists’ original work or reproductions of original works. If two-dimensional, it must be matted or framed for hanging. Flat pieces should be backed by heavy material, such as construction paper, foam board or posterboard.
Artists may submit up to two (2) pieces. All art must be delivered to the Bader Fine Art Gallery by October 14, 2023 between 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Submission of works larger than 36” wide and 48” high will need to be confirmed by the curator.
There are two levels of entries: (1) ages: 12-15, and (2) ages 16-18.
Entries will be judged based on creativity, balance, scale, unity, and detail.
Every entry must be captured for digital submission to be sent by the deadline of October 14, 2023, as established by the rules.
Artists must submit and complete a registration form for each entry.
The artwork should be identified by name on the back, not on the front.
Artwork will be displayed on October 21, 2023.
Displayed artwork will be judged on October 21, 2023 and must be picked up no later than the end of the show that day, unless sold by silent auction.
Artists may sell their work during the show and all profits will be paid to the artists, except for a 15% commission, payable to Polly Plumb Productions.
Art Awards will be made at the conclusion of the show.
Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places, as well as Honorable Mention and People’s Choice Awards in the two divisions.
