Bob Creek, a charming crescent-shaped beach just south of Yachats, offers a perfect blend of rugged coastal views and sandy stretches ideal for play. With easy access and a short path leading directly to the water, it’s a fantastic spot for a beach adventure. Be sure to keep an eye out for agates as you explore this scenic shoreline!

Bob Creek Wayside, the fourth and final viewpoint along Neptune State Park, is a must-see stop. This crescent-shaped beach is best explored at low tide when the shoreline comes alive with marine life. You’ll find a fascinating array of creatures, from mussels, barnacles, and sea grass to vibrant starfish, sea anemones, snails, and crabs, including Dungeness and hermit crabs. Even if you miss low tide, slabs of basalt rocks remain accessible year-round, making it a great spot for agate hunting.

Please remember that digging or disturbing the habitat is strictly prohibited, so be sure to follow all posted regulations. Bob Creek Wayside is located about 10 minutes south of Yachats, with free parking available, though space can be limited. For a quieter visit, plan to come in the off-season or during weekdays. And always keep in mind that due to sneaker waves, never turn your back on the ocean while exploring.

SAFETY FIRST AT THE BEACH!

  • Never turn your back on the ocean.
  • Utilize a local tide table!
  • Leave the wildlife alone! Don't pry sea stars off rocks, don't poke the anemones, and let all wildlife be.
  • Don't play on driftwood logs or on eroding rocky areas.
  • Always stay on the designated trails, don't climb over fences or barriers.
  • Check seasonal restrictions before planning a campfire on the beach, as they aren't always allowed.
  • While swimming isn't overly popular here, if you do want to brave the 52°F water, please be aware of rip currents!
