EXPLORE THE VILLAGE on FOOT

During the sunny warmer months along the Oregon coast, our quaint coastal town comes alive, with markets, art shows. All the local shops and restaurants are open and bustling, and folks are out and about enjoying the beautiful weather at the beach. One of the best ways to soak up all the magical details of Yachats during the Summer, is to experience town on foot!

Skip the car, grab a jacket, and take a walk into town from where you’re staying, perhaps at the Overleaf Resort or any one of our wonderful hotels, even vacation rentals! The historic 804 Trail is an easy, mostly paved walk that hugs the rocky coastline, which conveniently extends from the Northern end of town, connecting into the downtown area of the village. If you’re traveling from the Southern end, enjoy a walk up Yachats Ocean Road, connecting to the bridge that leads right into town via Hwy 101. Just visiting for the day? Park in town and explore the area up close and personal, while soaking up all the coastal charm, sights, and sounds of Yachats before heading back home!

However you arrive, once you make your way in town, the world is your oyster! We may be a small village, but we are mighty! Peruse a variety of galleries and shops featuring local artists and makers, enjoy a fantastic coastal meal at any one of our local restaurants, dance to live music most nights around town, then stop by for a treat at Toppers before walking back home as the sun sets.

Want a break from the human world? Enjoy a peaceful nature walk right in the heart of town- soak up the tranquility of our local wetlands that feature wooden boardwalks weaving through protected habitats. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for a variety of birds and creatures that call the wetlands home.

From May-September, grab your reusable bag and take a stroll through our local farmers market that returns to town on Sundays from 9am-2pm. The market features an array of flowers, fungi, fruits and veggies, and local wares!

Another wonderful walkable experience you shouldn't miss out on that truly celebrates the whimsy of Yachats, is our La De Da Parade on July 4th in the heart of town, followed by fireworks over the Yachats River, later in the day.

Wherever your feet may lead you in Yachats, it’s bound to be a beautiful and memorable experience!
